DT-04 Two-Wheel Drive All-terrain Off-Roader
Introducing the Fighter NXGEN! This 1/10 scale RC buggy draws inspiration from full-size single-seater racing buggies popular in the United States. Built on the DT-04 chassis, this 2WD rear-wheel-drive platform maintains the easy assembly and lively performance that define the Fighter series. The name "NXGEN" (Next Generation) reflects its enhanced off-road capabilities and expanded setup options compared to its predecessors. Additionally, the front and rear suspension arms, gears, and gearbox are shared with the DT-02 and DT-03 chassis, allowing compatibility with numerous option parts for further customization and tuning.
About The Racing Fighter
Suspension & Steering
Equipped with 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension featuring long arms and CVA oil bypass dampers, ensuring excellent shock absorption and superior handling on a variety of terrains. The front suspension arms are designed with a 22.5-degree skid angle, allowing for smooth and precise movement over obstacles. Additionally, the model introduces a 3-piece steering tie-rod system, offering a true and responsive steering feel—marking the first time this design has been used in the Fighter series. These advanced suspension and steering features provide enhanced performance and control, making the Fighter NXGEN a standout in off-road driving.
Body
The body of this model is truly impressive, crafted from injection-molded white polycarbonate. Similar to the BBX, the body is made up of modular pieces that attach securely to the main chassis. However, unlike the BBX, these components are made from white polycarbonate rather than vacuum-formed clear polycarbonate sheets. This design choice simplifies the assembly process, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced builders, as there's no need for painting—just apply the decals!
History
Single-seater racing buggies have their roots in the 1960s and 1970s off-road racing boom, emerging as lightweight, high-speed alternatives to traditional off-road trucks. Inspired by dune buggies and VW-based off-road vehicles, they evolved into purpose-built machines designed for extreme terrain. The SCORE Baja 1000, first held in 1967, helped popularize these buggies, showcasing their durability and performance in grueling desert conditions. Over the decades, advancements in suspension, chassis design, and engine technology have made them a dominant force in off-road racing, competing in events like Ultra4 Racing and the Best in the Desert series.
